PPI for Mental Health Researchers

Increasingly, funding for research requires evidence of good Patient and Public Involvement (PPI). Researchers also want to know that the research they do is valuable and will make a meaningful difference in the real world. If you have an outline proposal or even just an idea, and want to run this past a “Dragon’s Den” of people with lived experience, please contact us to discuss.

“The lived experience feedback on my proposal significantly influenced the design of the study for the better.”

How we can help you

Our network membership is diverse and we can convene a relevant PPI reference group to suit your needs. You may want to run your research idea past a group of service users and carers with varied lived experience of mental health conditions, or a more focused group such as those with a specific diagnosis. We also have a group of members who are very experienced in PPI, and several members who are or have been involved in conducting research themselves. Organisations members have worked with in the past include McPin, University College London, Kings College London, NIHR Maudsley and UCL Hospitals Biomedical Research Centres, THIN, THIS Institute ….
