What’s going on at the moment?

JULES THORN DAY HOSPITAL CAMPAIGN

The Jules Thorn Day hospital (Adult Day Unit – ADU) at St Pancras has been a much valued and life-saving facility for many mental health service users. It offered a good standard of care and holistic therapies. It has been closed without consultation and will not reopen on the St Pancras site as the land has been sold off. The trust says the need is met by facilities in the community but we are unconvinced. There is a campaign to save the service and have it re-open somewhere else in the borough. Please do sign the petition to support the campaign.   http://chng.it/NYB6jfZy5B PETITION

Did you go to Jules Thorn? What was your experience of it? Do write and tell us – hello@sidebysidenetwork.org

If you’d like to read more, there was an article in the Camden News Journal (25.03.21, p8)

Exploring Experiences of Bullying and Harassment

Bullying and harassment are really difficult issues to discuss. We started to discuss this some time ago, stalled, and finally now have finished designing our survey on the topic. If you have experiences any bullying or harassment recently, or know of it happening to other people please do take the time to fill this in. It is anonymous. We don’t quite know what we can do about it yet but it seems the first thing is that we need to talk about it, and to understand the extent of it. Please pass this on to anyone else who might be affected, or there are options to fill in some details on behalf of someone else. The survey can be accessed at this link:  https://tinyurl.com/BullyingMH
If you are not great with spelling or English don’t worry. We can work it out. You can fill it in in other languages if you need to.
“Why doesn’t it ask about….?”  There are many reasons someone might be bullied and sometimes it is not clear at all why! We do not want to ask leading questions or limit it to categories, so the survey is quite open. Please put anything that you think is relevant.
What will we do with the results? It depends very much on what we get back from the responses. A report of some sort (not naming names or anything) is likely but hopefully we will have something to help reduce the incidence of these very distressing experiences. Thanks very much for your help.
